North light or, more precisely, skylight, is diffuse light scattered by the atmosphere. It is far more subtle than direct sunlight and a tool that I like to use to convey a sense of quiet serenity. Combine skylight with a wet, reflective surface and the image can simply glow. Dawn and dusk are prime times for capturing sky light on the land.
