Located only about 30 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge, Point Reyes is literally and figuratively a land apart. The San Andreas fault separates the peninsula from the continent. With 71,000 acres (110 square miles) and including 33,000 acres of designated wilderness, Point Reyes National Seashore protects 80 miles of undeveloped coastline and provides a quiet haven that is a world apart from the urban Bay Area.
